Border Guard Bangladesh arrested a Hundi trader along with US dollar 12,500 and Rs 20,000 from Benapole International Checkpost area on Friday noon.
The arrestee was identified as Kabir Uddin Bhuiyan, 40, son of Kanchan Ali Khan of Fukra village under Kashiani police station in Gopalganj district.
49 BGB Commanding Officer Lt. Colonel Selim Reza confirmed the matter. He said that the BGB members raided the check post area and arrested a Hundi trader along with 12,500 US dollars and 20,000 rupees hidden in his bag after receiving a tip-off that a passport passenger from India was coming to Bangladesh with huge amount of dollars and rupees.
The arrested accused has been handed over to Benapole Port Police Station along with dollars and rupees.
A case was filed in this connection.
