A human chain, demonstration and protest rally was held in protest of continuous attacks, torture, vandalism of houses and silent extortion by terrorists on innocent people of Arpara village in Bichali Union of Narail Sadar Upazila on Monday afternoon. People of Ward No 1 of the union organized the human chain and protest rally on the road of Arpara Bazar.
Vice-President of ward no 1 of Bichali union Awami League retired sergeant Md. Mokaram Hossain Sardar, general secretary of ward no1 AL former UP member Mina Milon Hossain, AL sadar upazila committee member Syed Riaz Ali, SM Bayazid Hossain, local AL leader Biswajit Goldar, Hamida Begum, Prabhati Sarkar, Ismita, Shila Biswas among others were addressed the human chain and protest rally.
AL leader and former UP member Mina Milon Hossain said that alleged terrorist of Arpara village Rabiul Sheikh and his three accomplices had beheaded his brother Mina Hilon Hossain on April 8 at 2.30 pm for plotting to assassinate him and severely beat him with iron rods, hammers, and sticks. His brother was first admitted to Narail Sadar Hospital. Later he was referred to Khulna Medical College Hospital for better treatment. At present his brother is fighting death in the hospital. During this incident, the terrorists also beat me with sticks and injured me.
Awami League sadar upazila committee member Syed Riaz Ali said, "Independent candidate SM Anisul Islam got angry with us for working for the boat symbol candidate in Bichali union parishad election which was held on November 11, 2021." At various times after the election, some of the people identified by his terrorist forces have been carrying out one after another attacks and tortures on the peace loving people with home-made weapons. We strongly protest against such terrorist activities and seek the intervention of the administration.
SM Bayazid said law and order situation had deteriorated as former chairman SM Anisul Islam and his men had established a reign of terror in the area.
I seek immediate intervention of the administration to bring under the law those who nurture and support terrorists and some identified terrorists to protect innocent and peace loving people from attack and torture. He noted that the law and order situation in the area would continue to deteriorate if they were not brought under the law as soon as possible.
In this regard, former chairman SM Anisul Islam said, "opponents carrying out conspiratorial propaganda to tarnish my image and humiliate me in the society. My people are not involved in any kind of terrorist or anti-law and order activities. I am always trying to establish peace in the area.
