Incidentally, a motor cycle driver was killed in a road accident in Amzhupi of Meherpur Sadar Upazila on February 12. Due to this incident, some riotous people attacked an NGO office named Mouk.

While recording video footage of the accident at the scene, some rioters brutally attacked journalist Rasheduzzaman. Journalist Pavel was attacked by them when he rushed to save him. Later, the police and journalists rescued them both and took them to the hospital. On the day of the incident, Rasheduzzaman filed a case at Meherpur Sadar Police Station naming seven people as the plaintiff. Police arrested an accused named Abu Laych and last night accused No. 1 Akash from the spot.
