The Kalapara Ashraifa Jame Mosque Committee and the locals organized a human chain to free the place of the mosque and road and to start the road repair work immediately in Kishoreganj.
The human chain was held at Kalapara intersection of Mohinanda union under Sadar upazila on Thursday morning.
President of Kalapara Ashrafia Jame Mosque Committee Mahbubur Rahman presided over the human chain. Sadar Upazila Vice Chairman Abdus Sattar, Kishoreganj Zila Parished Member Sazzadul Islam Sazzad, General Secretary of the Mosque Committee Ataur Rahman Bachchu, Member of 8 No Ward of Mohinanda Union Abdul Halim and others spoke on the human chain. Hundreds of locals participated in this human chain on their own initiative.
The speakers said that 150 meters of the 400 meter road of JICA project from Kalapara moor to Murad's house could not be constructed due to the intervention of influential quarters.
Due to the long efforts of the locals, the road construction project worth Tk 40 lakh was started through Upazila Vice Chairman Abdus Sattar. But due to influential quarters, it was not possible to build the 400 meter road.
About 14 lakh taka of the project was returned. This road is considered to be very important for getting to Tarail and Kishoreganj. We want to see the place of the mosque free from occupying.
We would like to see the road unoccupied and immediately started the road repair and appeal to the administration to save us
from misery.
