Hult Prize hunts talents at NSTU

The on-campus round of Hult Prize ended at Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) on Friday with virtually announcing the winners of the international competition.

Team ' Amigos' was adjudged as the winner of the completion while 'Team Entrepreneurial' and 'Team Trio' became the first and the second runner-up respectively.

As many as 7 teams made to the final among 53 teams contesting on business idea with the theme 'Food for Good'. NSTU’s Institute of Information Science organized the Hult Prize event, who held at the university for the third time.

Judges of the final round were Ahmed Bari, chairman of International Business Juteco Ltd., Jannatun Ishita, CEO of Workplace Skills Development Academy New Zealand and 3 three teachers from Dhaka University namely Professor of Institute of Business Administration Dr Md Ridhwanul Haq, Professor of Institute of Nutrition and Food Science Dr M Akhtaruzzaman, Professor and Chairman of Information Science and Library Management Dr Kazi Mostak.

NSTU Campus Director of Hult Prize Sabiha Tasmim said,"Hult Prize is known as the student’s Nobel prize. In our campus, we work together to organise the competition and our teachers guide us as mentors.”

Assistant Professors Umme Habiba, Shamima Yasmin and Rajesh Kumar Das and Lectures Md Emdadul Islam and Md Abdul Karim of Institute of Information Science guide the contesting students as mentors.

NSTU VC Prof Dr. Didar ul Alam and Treasurer Prof Dr Mohammed Faruque Uddin, Professor of Department of Fisheries and Marine Science Dr Abdullah Al Mamun, Professor and Chairman of Department of Microbiology Dr Firoz Ahmed, Associate Professor of Department of Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering Dr Md Mofizul Islam, Associate Professor of Department of Business Administration Dr.  Abdul Kiyum Masud, Assistant Professor of Department of Food Technology and Nutrition Science Dr Tanjina Rahman, Assistant Professor of Department of Applied Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Dr Nazia Nur, Regional Associate of Hult Prize Global team Fahim Shahriar, teachers of Institute of Information Science and students from different departments were present.
