Huge mango buds sprout in Dinajpur

Flowering of huge mango-buds are being noticed in mango orchards of 13 upazilas of the district.  Farmers and owners of mango orchards are now busy caring the mango trees by spreading insecticides and pesticides on mango buds.  Agriculture Officials in Dinajpur informed, varieties of mangoes are produced in the district of which Fazli, Lengra, Amrapali, Mishribhog, Haribhanga, Mollika, Thai, Gopalbhog, Bari-10, Benarashi, Seetabhog are most famous. 

Badhan Kumar, a mango farmers of Kasba area under Dinajpur sadar informed, a huge turn out of mango buds has been noticed on his trees this year. So far, no insect or pest attack is being noticed. He hoped a bumper harvest of mango unless there is no natural catastrophes during the coming months. He further said, he earned Taka 700,000 by selling mango produced on his 15-bigha of land last year.

Touhidul Iqbal, Deputy Director of Agriculture Extension Department of Dinajpur informed, the mango is produced well in Dinajour. This year the mango buds sprouted earlier. He hoped for a bumper production of mango if the weather of district remained fair.
