Two persons including the General Secretary of the ward Awami League were arrested by Naldanga thana police on the allegation of raping a housewife by promising her to offer a VGF card and for allegedly making a video of the rape incident.
The arrested persons have been identified as the General Secretary of Ward-3 Piprul union Awami League of Naldanga Ibrahim Dewan of Banshbhag village and his cohort Bokul son of Abed Ali of the same village on Friday night.
Police is also trying to arrest another accused of the case Rezaul son of late Nur Uddin of the same village, informed Nazrul Islam, Officer-in-charge of Naldanga Police station.
Arrested persons were sent to the jail through the court on Saturday morning. Earler on Friday night, the victim housewife filed a case with Naldanga Police station.
Officer-in-charge Nazrul Islam further mentioned, on October-3 afternoon last year Ibrahim called the woman, wife of a day labourer of Banshbhag village to his house to give her a VGF (Vulnerable Group Feeding) card and raped her by taking her to a neighbouring house.
His two accomplices Bokul and Rezaul made a video of the rape scene. They also threatened the housewife to spread the video through internet unless she keeps the incident secret.
