Police recovered the body of a housewife from a paddy field at Palanti under Shibganj upazila in Bogura on Wednesday morning. The deceased was identified as Shirina Sultana, 23, wife of Mamun of Achalai Namapara village of Raynagar union. Mamun has been absconding since the incident.
Sub-Inspector Ali Akbar of Shibganj Police Station said locals found the woman lying dead in the paddy field and informed the police. Upon receiving the news, police recovered the body at around 7:30 pm. It is being apprehended that the woman was strangled to death. Shibganj Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Mizanur Rahman said the body was sent to the morgue for autopsy. Police members are working to find those involved in the killing.
