Staging a real-life drama that she has been killed, a housewife of Natore escaped home with her paramour. Two days later, she along with her lover was arrested by police early on Thursday. The housewife is Mukti of Baraigram upazila in Natore.
Police also arrested her paramour Sanowar Ahmed Abid, 24, a representative of medicine company, from Fulbari in Mymensingh. Liton Kumar Saha, Superintendent of Police (SP) of Natore, said this at a press briefing at his office on Thursday noon.
It was said at the press conference that husband of Mukti boarded her on a vehicle from Rajapur of Boraigram upazila on way to her parents’ house on Tuesday. After a while, husband of Mukti received a message in his mobile phone where it was written, “Whoever you are, tell the relatives of this woman that I have killed her.
She called me a trash and I have ended all her insistence today. She was going home, doesn't she? I sent her to the real home. Find out the dead body. Tata.”
With the message, husband of Mukti went to Boraigram Police Ptation and filed a case there.
A team of police later on with the help of sophisticated info technology came to learn that Mukti had been staying in Mymensigh instead of going to her husband’s house and with assistance from the Mymensingh Police authorities and the detective police, arrested Mukti and her paramour Sanowar Ahmed Abid from a house of Fulbari and brought them back to Natore.
The press briefing further said, some 6/7-month ago, Abdid and Mukti developed a love-relation through mobile phone and decided to marry. Mukti did not disclose to Abid that she was married.
On the other hand, Abid edited some photographs on his mobile phone showing the girl has been killed. During her escaping with Abid, Mukti sent some of such photographs to her frineds and relatives through mobile phones and then switched off the phone.
The press briefing was attended, among others, by Additional Superintendent of Police of Natore Akramul Islam, ASP Harun-ur-Rashid of Boraigram circle, ASP Abul Hasnat of Natore Sadar Circle, Officer in Charge of Natore sadar thana Jahangir Alam and local journalists.
