A housewife was brutally killed by her husband in Lama upazila of Bandarban in the early hours of Monday. Two others were severely injured in this incident. The incident took place at Teluniya Para, a remote hill in Aziznagar union of Lama upazila.
The diseased woman was identified as Shahina Akhter, 27, daughter of Ibrahim, resident of Telunia para. The injured two are Mizanur Rahman and Shohag also residents of the same area.
Police detained the murderer husband Md. Zakir Hasan, son of Nazir Ahmed following the incident. Zakir Hossain is a rented motorcycle driver. Zakir quarreled with his wife Shahina on Sunday night, suspecting that she was having an affair. At one point, Zakir slaughtered Sahina with a scythe.
He then attacked Mizanur and Sohag entering a neighboring chicken farm and injured them seriously. Locals later rescued the injured and rushed them to Chittagong Medical College Hospital.
Aziznagar Police Camp Incharge SI Monirul Islam Majumder said Shahna Akhter's body was recovered and sent to Badarban Sadar Hospital Morgue for autopsy. Immediately after the incident, the murderer Zakir was detained by Police with the help of the locals, he added.
