A housewife, also mother of two sons was slaughtered at her residence at any time of Monday night at Lamapara area under Fatulla police station in the district.
The deceased was identified as Tanjida Akter Popi, 25, daughter of Ali Ashraf of Rajapur village of Narayanganj Sadar upazila and wife of Hira Chowdhury of the same area.
On information, police at small hours of Wednesday recovered housewife Popi’s slaughtered body from inside her room.
Later, police arrested the husband Hira Chowdhury. A blood stained knife was recovered from Hira’s possession.
Sub-Inspector Jakir Hossain told the media that the body of Popi was slaughtered. The deceased has two sons- Tushar,8 and Toaf,6 in her thirteen years long conjugal life.
Killed Popi’s mother Taslima claimed that her daughter was killed by husband due to failing to meet up his illegal demand for dowry money. The body was sent to Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
A murder case was filed with Fatulla police station in this connection.
