House burnt to ashes

A house has been burnt down in a late night fire at Dhamairhat in Naogaon. The house has lost more than 5 lakh taka including cows, rice, land deeds and cash. The incident took place at Rupnarayanpur village of the upazila.

It was learned that Abdus Chhattar, 65, of Rupnarayanpur in Dhamairhat union of the upazila fell asleep at night. At the call of nature in early house, he came out of the house and saw a sudden fire and cried. 

As no one came forward at that time, most of the bodies of 5 cows were burnt and all the furniture of the house including 12 ounces of rice, Tk 14,000 in cash, land deeds, NID card and clothes were burnt. Primarily it is being thought that the mosquito coil may be the cause of the fire.

Chairman of Dhamairhat Union Kamruzzaman said that arrangements will be made to rehabilitate the affected families very soon.
