Hon’s 1st year exams of 7 DU colleges begin physically

Dhaka University (DU) affiliated seven government colleges in the capital have started conducting their Honors first year examinations physically in the classrooms following health guidelines.

Examinations began at 12 noon on Saturday at seven centers simultaneously. The tests will continue as per routine till November 20.

These examinations were supposed to be held in 2020. But the tests could not be taken as the educational institutions were closed due to Covid-19 pandemic. Now the regular graduates of the 1st year under 2019-20 academic year and the irregular as well as grade improvement candidates of the 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic sessions are taking part in this examination.

The examination centers are inter-changed within the respective colleges. BA, BBS, BSc examinees of Dhaka College are taking part in the exams at Eden Women's College while students of Eden Women's College at Dhaka College, students of Begum Badrunnesa Government Women's College at Eden Women's College. In addition, Kabi Nazrul Government College students are attending in Government Shaheed Suhrawardy College and Begum Badrunnessa Government Women's College, Government Shaheed Suhrawardy College students in Kabi Nazrul Government College, Government Bangla College students in Government Titumir College and Government Titumir College students in Government Bangla College for their examinations.

Earlier on August 18, a meeting of the principals of seven colleges with DU Pro Vice Chancellor (Education) Professor ASM Maksud Kamal decided to conduct the exam physically. Subsequently, after a long closure due to Corona, physical examination activities were started in seven colleges on Saturday, in compliance with hygiene rules and social distance.

IK Selim Ullah Khandaker, coordinator of seven colleges and principal of Dhaka College, said regular examinations of other batches will also begin soon in phases. The authorities are trying their best so that the time of the students is not wasted.
