The house of Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal in Dhanmondi caught fire in a shocking display of violence that was part of a larger arson campaign throughout Bangladesh.
The fire service reported a surge in incidents, with hundreds of buildings including police stations and Awami League offices being targeted.
Rozina Akhter, duty officer at the Fire Service Headquarters, confirmed that reports of arson are pouring in from various parts of Dhaka. The affected locations include the Home Minister’s residence, Adabar Police Station, Khilkhet Police Station, and several areas including Postogola, Uttara, Mirpur, and Tejgaon.
