Home Economics college admission apply deadline April 25

The admission circular for the academic year 2023-24 of all Home Economics Colleges affiliated to Dhaka University has been published. The circular includes the admission guidelines for Government College of Applied Human Sciences and several private colleges, including Bangladesh College of Home Economics, National College of Home Economics, Mymensingh College of Home Economics, Akiz College of Home Economics, and Barisal Home Economics College. 

According to the circular, the application process will start from 21 March 2024 and the deadline to submit applications is 25 April 2024. The admission test will be held on 25 May 2024. 

The minimum eligibility to apply for admission is to have a secondary or equivalent degree from 2018 to 2021 and a higher secondary or madrasa board/A-Level or equivalent foreign degree from any branch of any education board/open university in Bangladesh from 2023. 

The candidate's GPA-sum of 4th subject in Secondary (SSC) and Higher Secondary (HSC) or equivalent examination should be minimum 5.50 for any discipline but minimum GPA of 2.50 in each of Secondary and Higher Secondary or equivalent examination separately. 

The admission test will be in MCQ mode and there will be a total of 100 questions carrying 100 marks. Candidates must appear for Bengali, English, and ICT, and complete any one subject test in Chemistry, Accounting, Economics, Food and Nutrition, or General Knowledge. The total marks for each subject are 25. The GPA score is 20, i.e., GPA obtained in secondary or equivalent examination is multiplied by 2 and GPA obtained in higher secondary or equivalent examination is multiplied by 2. Candidates scoring less than 40 marks will not be considered for admission. 

The total number of seats available is 2655, with 1591 available for Science/Home Economics in merit, 118 in quota, 513 for commerce department in merit, 37 in quota, and 365 for the humanities department in merit, 31 in quota. The estimated annual cost of private colleges is Tk 30-40 thousand.
