‘Hold Zia’s posthumous trial for Bangabandhu murder’


Awami League and its front bodies in Narail have demanded posthumous trial of Ziaur Rahman for his involvement in the brutal murder of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his family members on August 15 in 1975. 

They raised the demand from human chains formed at different points of the Narail-Jashore road from Kalna Ghat to Tularampur in Narail on Tuesday.  Various social organisations also took part in the human chain. 

District Awami League general secretary and Sadar upazila chairman Nizam Uddin Khan Nilu, Advocate Kazi Bashirul Haque, BCL district committee’s former president and Awami League leader Hafiz Khan Milon, Advocate Mahmudul Hasan Kayes, Joint-convener of District Jubo League, former VP Gausul Azam Masum, President of League Tariqul Islam Ujjal, General Secretary SM Palash,Mahidur Rahman Mohid, Mostafa Kamruzzaman Kamal, District BCL general secretary Rakibuzzaman Polash, Nilo Roy Badhan, Mahmudul Haque Sabu and other people from different walks of life were present in human chain at court road. 

The speakers demanded the posthumous trial of former army officer and President Ziaur Rahman. After the human chain, general secretary of district Awami League and Chairman of Sadar Upazila Nizam Uddin Khan Nilu sent a memorandum to Prime Minister through Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Narail. 

Another human chain was formed at the old terminal on the initiative of Narail Municipality Mayor Md. Jahangir Biswas and district Jubo League. District Jubo League joint convener Gausul Azam Masum, Md. Salauddin Nanna, Masuduzzaman Bulu, general secretary of Poura Jubo League Sajjad Hossain Tuhin, Jahangir Sikder, Arifuzzaman Sohel, Enamul Haque, Sohel Rana,Shariful Islam Shanta,Imrul Kayes  spoke on the occasion.
