‘Hoimontir Itikotha’ now showing in multiplexes

The movie "Hoimontir Itikotha," based on Rabindranath Tagore's famous short story "Hoimonti," has been released and is currently showing in three multiplexes across the country. Directed by Mirza Sakhawat Hossain, the film began screening on Friday, bringing this timeless story to life on the big screen.

According to the director, the movie is running four shows daily at Bashundhara City Mall and Sony Square, two branches of Star Cineplex. There are also two shows at Jamuna Blockbuster Cinemas and three shows at Lion Cinemas. The release faced several challenges, including confirming the date, but Hossain expressed relief that cinema halls are returning to normal after a long time. 

He stated, “We didn't want to delay the release any longer. I believe the audience will watch the movie whenever they can.”

"Hoimontir Itikotha" features a talented cast, with newcomer Oisheka Ahmed Oishe in the title role and Saif Khan portraying Apu. 

The cast also includes Jhuna Chowdhury, Rasheda Chowdhury, Khalilur Rahman Kaderi, Muna Akter, Arup Kundu, Md Abdur Razzaq, Mohammad Abdul Hamid, Anisur Rahman, and child artist Simontini Chowdhury.

The film features several Rabindra Sangeet (Tagore songs) performed by renowned artists Dr. Anima Roy, Mamun Zahid, Shimu De, and Jayanta Acharya. 

The music was composed by Dinbondhu Das, with Amit Chatterjee handling the background score.

With its rich story, skilled cast, and beautiful music, "Hoimontir Itikotha" promises viewers a heartfelt experience of Tagore's classic tale on the big screen.
