Historical Kamanna Day observed in Jhenaidah

Shailkuipa upazila Muktijoddha Command Council and local freedom fighters have jointly celebrated the 50th death anniversary of 27 martyrs who sacrificed their lives at Kamanna village of Sailkupa upazila in Jhenidah on November 26 in 1971 to liberate upon the sovereignty of Bangladesh. 

Two innocent villagers including a house wife were also gunned down by the brutal during the time. The total death following the massacre was 29.

A dowa mahfil and discussion meeting was held at the newly constructed monument with assistant commissioner (AC) land Partha Prateem Seal in the chair. Retired joint secretary, also a veteran freedom fighter BM Lutfar Rahman, Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangshad Shailkupa upazila unit ex deputy commander Rahmat Ali Mantu, Magura district unit ex Commander Jahuri Alam and Ekram Hossain, Jhenaidah district ex deputy commander Meher Ali, ex deputy commander of Shailkupa Lutfar Rahman Tulu among others spoke. Freedom fighter Qamruzzaman Lal conducted the session.

BM Lutfar Rahman and other speakers urged upon the people, especially, the freedom fighters to come forwards once again to combat the corruption at all level when the government of Sheikh Hasina was marching to establish a just society as per the desire of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The brutal occupation Pakistani forces and their collaborators killed Momin, Kader, Shahidul Islam, Soleman, Abdur Razzaque, Abdul Wahed, Riyad, Alamgir Hossain, Abdul Motaleb, Ali Hossain, Sariful Islam, Anisur Rahman, Alimuzzaman, Tajul Islam, Maniruzzaman, Nasim, Razzaque-2, Kawser Ali, Abdul Malek, Abdul Aziz, Akbar Hossain, Selim, Hossain, Rashed, Golzer Ahmed, Adhir and Gour with gunshots and charging bayonets. Three other people including a house wife Ranga Nessa were also killed during the attack on the freedom fighters.
