Herringbone project launched at Bhomra

Herringbone (HBB) project was inaugurated in Bhomra area of Satkhira to make rural roads sustainable on Friday morning.

MP from Satkhira Sadar-2 constituency Freedom Fighter Mir Mostaq Ahmed Robi inaugurated the project by cutting the ribbon and unveiling the plaque as the chief guest while Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Debashish Chowdhury presided over it. 

Speaking as the chief guest, MP Robi said, “Bangladesh Awami League has made a lot of progress in the country under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina. She has pledged to bring all the facilities of the city to the village. The people of the village will get all the benefits of the city. Everyone should have cooperation in the development activities of the country”.

He further said that the work of 1500 metre newly constructed herringbone road from Gangnia Bridge Gucho village More of Bhomra Union towards Srirampur has been inaugurated at a cost of Taka 77 lakh. This will benefit the people of several villages including Bhomra and Srirampur. He also promised to pave the remaining 3 and a half kilometers of the road.

At the end of the inaugural function, MP Robi sowed palm seeds on both sides of the road to curb lightning, a special project of the Prime Minister. Party leaders and local dignitaries were present at the time.
