Hefazat’s Mamunul on 15 days’ police remand

A court here granted fifteen days police remand to defunct Hefazat-e-Islam joint secretary Mamunul Haq in five criminal cases of Sonargaon and Shiddhirganj police station.

On May 12, police produced thirty-eight days police remand prayer to the virtual court and after hearing the both parties the court granted fifteen days remand for three days in each case.

Senior Judicial magistrate Ahmed Humayun Kabir passed the order.

Among the three criminal cases with Sonargaon police one is filed by Mamunul’s so-called second wife Jannat Ara Jharna a rape case and two others are vandalized cases filed by police.

Two criminal cases were registered with Shidhhirganj police station by police in the cause of anarchy on March 28 at Sanarpar area on Dhaka-Chattagram highway protesting Indian premier Bangladesh visit. Both cases are investigated by Narayanganj CID. one is investigated by assistant police super Harunur Rashid and the other is by inspector Ataur Rahman.

None of the case investigators have yet started investigating the accused due to the vacation of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Mamunul Haq on April 3 was caught by people at Sonargaon Royal resort with a lady. He claimed her as a second wife but she denied the demand. 

After that the fellow of Mamunul snatched him from the people’s cordon and ran mayhem that assaulted people and police.
