Heavy rainfall in forecast

The capital experienced heavy rainfall  on Sunday. Meteorological Department forecasted moderate to heavy rains in different parts of the country.

The information has been given in the latest forecast by the Meteorological Department on Sunday.

Meteorologist Abul Kalam told Bangladesh Post that Dhaka experienced 41mm of rainfall till noon on Sunday. According to the forecast, light to moderate showers or thundershowers with temporary gusts are likely in Rangpur, Mymensingh, Chattogram, Barisal and Sylhet divisions and some parts of Rajshahi, Dhaka and Khulna divisions. At the same time, there may be moderate to heavy rains in other parts of the country as well.

The monsoon weather is at its peak in the country at the moment. Rain remains on the cards almost regularly effecting the lives of the city dwellers. Roads remain water logged in many places for hours. 

Furthermore, the rain caused water levels to rise in the rivers of the country. Flash floods have been on the forecasts from the beginning of the running month due to the continuous rainfall.

It has been raining intermittently in different parts of the capital since Sunday morning. Sometimes light and heavy at other times. 

The rains have caused water to accumulate on various roads in the capital.
