The high temperature will continue in Sylhet region amid sporadic light rain for next 10 to 15 days.
The sporadic rain already started from last three days. The heat wave might fluctuate depending on rainfall in the coming days, according the Sylhet weather office. sources from district civil surgeon office said no heat wave related diseases has spread till now in Sylhet.
Civil surgeon Himangshu Lal Ray said if this situation continues, heat related disease like dearhoya, pneumoniya, dehydration and other skin diseases might spread.
Sources said the ongoing heat wave started in Sylhet from last Tuesday with 36.5 degree celsius and till now it is continuing with
varying of temperature. Amid the high temperature, on Wednesday night 52mm rainfall brought some relief to people of the district.
Rainfall will continue until June 28 with pauses along side the heat wave, said Abu Sayed Choudhury, director of Sylhet weather office.
Meanwhile, Sylhet Osmani Medical College and all upazila health complexes are ready to take any pressure, although no patient has come to the hospital yet falling victim to the heat wave," said Abul Kalam Azad, deputy director of Sylhet Osmani Medical college hospital. Humayun Kabir, a resident of Sylhet city said from last few days we feel uneasy for the heat wave , but rain fall in the last night bring some relief to us. He further said we are aware about our children health condition amid this high temperature. He asked the all parents to be aware about their kids in the heat wave.
