A health worker died of coronavirus in Thakurgaon on Wednesday night. With this, the death toll in the district stood at 8.
The deceased was identified as Zakaria Hossain, Deputy Assistant Community Health Physician (SECMO) of Family Planning Department, Haripur Upazila. He hailed from Amgao village of the same upazila. He died at Dinajpur Medical College Hospital on Wednesday night.
He contracted corona on July 23. After sample testing, he was admitted to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital on August 2.
Dr. Subrata Sen, medical officer of the Civil Surgeon's Office, confirmed the incident and said that he would be buried in the family graveyard in accordance with the hygiene rules. With this, 8 people died in the district.
