Hashem, Ziauddin elected in Ctg Bar Association President, Secy

Coordinating Council candidate Abu Mohammad Hashem has been elected president of the Chittagong District Bar Association. He got 2 thousand 93 votes. His nearest rival is Nazim Uddin Chowdhury of Oikya Parishad.

AHM Ziauddin of the Coordinating Council has won the post of General Secretary. He has won the post three times in a row. This time he got 1 thousand 957 votes. His nearest rival is Abdus Sattar Sarwar of Oikya Parishad and also independent candidate Kishore Kumar Das.

The Election Commission announced the results after counting the votes on Thursday night. Voting was held peacefully.

Chief Election Commissioner Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said the coordination council has won 10 posts including President-General Secretary. Oikya Parishad has won 9 posts including senior vice-president. This time there were 39 candidates for 19 posts. There were 5.5 thousand voters. 4 thousand 193 people voted.

According to Election Commission sources, Md. Shafiq Ullah as Senior Vice President, Md. Azizuddin Haider as Vice President, Ershadur Rahman Ritu as Deputy General Secretary, Salauddin Mansur Remu as Finance Secretary, Md. Zahidul Islam Chowdhury as Library Secretary, Cultural Laila Nur has won the post of Sports Secretary and Md. Mezbah Uddin Doel has won the post of Information and Technology Secretary.

ANM Ruknuzzaman Munna, Shyamal Chowdhury, Selina Akhter, Md. Khorshed Kamal, Md. Abdullah Al Mamun, Ainul Kamal, Bilkish Ara Mitu, Minhaj Uddin, Md. Tohidul Bari Chowdhury, Touhidul Islam have won the member posts.
