A rally was held at Pahartali Divisional Railway Manager's office on Sunday morning at the initiative of Bangladesh Railway Sramik League, Central Committee to protest against harassment and transfer of railway employees and
non-payment of salaries and allowances on time.
Later, they took out a procession that paraded main thoroughfares of the city in support of their demands and submitted a charter of their demands to Abidur Rahman, Divisional Railway Manager of Chattogram. The Divisional Railway Manager assured to accept the demands.
Bangladesh Railway Sramik League Central Committee Executive President and Freedom Fighter Sheikh Md Lokman Hossain, Vice President Shahidul Islam and Additional General Secretary Gokul Chakraborty were present on the occasion.
