Bidding farewell to the eventful outgoing year 2021 we are welcoming the New Year 2022 of English calendar today (Saturday). We expect 2022 will bring new hopes, opportunities and joy. On this special occasion, we are conveying our best wishes to our valued readers and well-wishers.
The nation on Friday bade farewell to the outgoing year 2021 with a fresh hope that a new sun will rise taking away all sorrows, pains, and fears from the country and world as well.
We envisage that in this year we will be able to return to normal life as a good number of people across the country has already been vaccinated against Covid-19.
The eventful outgoing year saw two giant celebrations- the birth centenary of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the golden jubilee of the country’s independence.
We will continue to hold on to hope and
persevere for a brighter and
better tomorrow
The year 2021 was also a significant one for the country as amidst the global pandemic, we witnessed many successes stories in major areas including politics, economy, agriculture and the IT sector. Besides, the nation also witnessed a horrific launch fire incident in the Sugandha river in Jhalakathi that left at least 42 dead and missing other at the fag end of the outgoing year.
However, alongside many achievements and global recognitions, a peaceful environment prevailed in the country's political landscape in 2021. And the peaceful political environment allowed the nation's economy to grow faster.
The Covid-19 pandemic affected the country’s all sectors badly over the last two years. Therefore, in a pandemic-ravaged new year with many challenges ahead we will have to be committed and determined to go ahead braving all odds.
Usually the New Year's Eve comes as an occasion for huge celebration across the globe. But, the Covid-19 pandemic had forced the nations to avoid any kind of public gatherings or extravaganza centering the New Year celebration in 2021. And this year would also witness a limited celebration as many countries across the world have already put several restrictions afresh to slow the spread of the highly-infectious Omicron variant of Covid-19.
We are embarking on the New Year with hope and aspiration. We will continue to hold on to hope and persevere for a brighter and better tomorrow.
