Hadudu played to celebrate Eid in Nabinagar

The almost lost traditional national hadudu game of rural Bengal has been held to share the joy of Eid in Nilkhi village of Nabinagar Salimganj union in Brahmanbaria. The results of the game were announced on Tuesday evening and the prizes were distributed. This traditional game is held in the playground adjacent to the member's house in the village. Thousands of spectators, including men and women from different villages, came to watch the game which started in the afternoon. The spectators enjoy the traditional game of Hadudu in a joyous atmosphere by playing drums.

Moniruzzaman Renu Member presided over the inaugural function and former chairman of the area social worker Mohammad Parash Mia was the chief guest. Nilkhi village vs. small team took part in the game. Both the teams were declared joint champions as there was no result in the allotted 90 minutes of the match. Julhas Uddin Bhuiyan, Md. Khalil Mia and Ismail Bhuiyan acted as referees. The prizes were handed over to the two winning teams sponsored by volunteer leader Saiful Islam Jewel.

Present at the occasion were Salimganj Bazar Management Committee President SM Badal Mahmud, former UP members Mohammad Shah Alam, Mohammad Mamun Bhuiyan, Alam Mia, Nasir Uddin, Ramzan Mollah, Ali Azam Surya, Gazi Bhuiyan, Sujan Bhuiyan, Kamal Mia, Alem Mia, Businessman Alimul Rajib, Ward Awami League President Mohammad Nazim Uddin Rana and General Secretary Abul Bashar Badshah, UP member Shah Paran Sarkar, prominent businessman Ratan Mia and others. Mohammad Akram Hossain was the master of the game.
