Some miscreants allegedly attacked and fired three rounds of bullets on a family for not paying extortion and forcefully attempt to grab a land in Savar, on the outskirts of the capital, on Saturday afternoon. Three including two women were injured in this incident.
The injured are Md. Farukul Islam Faruk, 47, Director of Combine real estate Company, his wife Fahmida Islam, 45, and their daughter-in-law Sathi Islam, 26. They all were taken to Govt. health complex of Savar. Md. Farukul Islam Faruk alleged, they bought 42 decimal of land in the name of their real estate company in 2014 at Majidpur area in Savar.
Since then, some local terrorist including Shahin Polowan, Shumon Polowan, Md. Alomgir, and Humayan Kabir were allegedly demanding taka 1 crore as extortion to them. Lastly, the accused along with 8-10 unidentified miscreants came to the land with firearms around 4:00pm on Saturday and demanded again taka 1 crore as extortion.
At a stage, miscreants attacked and fired at least 3 rounds of bullets on Farukul Islam Faruk and attempted to grab the land, when Faruk refused to pay.
