Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Md Shahab Uddin said the government is working sincerely to fill the study gap during the Covid-19 period.
Mentioning that the present government has bridged the gap between boys and girls, the minister said that due to the government's provision of opportunities, girls are going ahead in education in different fields than boys.
He urged the girls to continue their education with attention and said that the nation will be educated if the girls are educated.
The minister made the statement while speaking as the chief guest at the inauguration of flower garden and foundation stone laying ceremony of new academic building of Nari Shikkha Academy Degree College in Barlekha upazila of Moulvibazar district on the occasion of the birth centenary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
The event was chaired by Barlekha Upazila Nirbahi Officer Khandaker Mudassir Bin Ali. Former chairman of Barlekha Upazila Parishad and acting general secretary of upazila Awami League Rafiqul Islam Sundar, municipality mayor Abul Imam Md Kamran Chowdhury, principal of Nari Shikkha Academy Degree College A.K. M. Helal Uddin and Barlekha upazila Awami League relief and social welfare secretary Kabiruzzaman Chowdhury were present during this time.
In another event, the minister distributed a total of Tk 93,95,000 among 1,879 tea workers at a function organized at Baralekha upazila parishad auditorium in Moulvibazar district.
Besides, the keys of the newly constructed houses at a cost of Tk 68 lakh under the sustainable housing construction project to improve the living standards of tea workers were handed over to 17 families.
