State Minister for Chattogram Affairs Mir Mohammad Helal Uddin said that the government's stance is strict in suppressing any kind of crime and as per the Prime Minister's instructions, a zero tolerance policy is being followed to maintain law and order. The overall situation will be reviewed through regular meetings in coordination with the law enforcement agencies.
He said these things while speaking as the chief guest at the law and order committee meeting organized by the district administration at the conference room of the Chattogram Circuit House on Sunday.
Mir Helal expressed deep concern over the recent incident of child abuse in Chattogram. He said that to prevent such incidents, people from all walks of life should be aware, not just blaming the law enforcement agencies. In particular, guardians should be more responsible and vigilant about where the child is going and who they are mixing with. He mentioned that the Ziaur Rahman Foundation has provided financial assistance of one lakh taka to the family of the affected child.
Mir Helal said that the law and order situation in Chattogram, including commodity prices, is currently under control. He mentioned that it is a success of the existing sound environmental administration and the coordinated efforts of the current government.
In addition, the meeting discussed various important issues including the overall law and order situation in the district, market management, and what needs to be done to curb drugs and crime.
