The Awami League-led government stepped into the fourth year of its third consecutive term on Friday. We hope the government would continue working for the prosperity and welfare of the people of the country.

Marking completion of the third year of her government, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina addressed the nation on Friday evening. Party President Sheikh Hasina was sworn-in as the Prime Minister for the fourth term, third in a row, on January 7, 2019 after her party Bangladesh Awami League secured a landslide victory in the general elections held on December 30, 2018. Since then Bangladesh has been moving ahead indomitably under the dynamic leadership of Sheikh Hasina to fulfil the dream of the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

The sheer efforts on the part of the Sheikh Hasina’s administration has made Bangladesh a “Role Model of Development,” among the developing countries. Now Bangladesh is ahead in many development indicators compared with many other South East Asian countries.

With renewed hopes and aspirations, we look

forward to even a better year under the leadership

of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina

However, because of Covid-19 pandemic our country has been facing economic stagnation and huge losses as well. But the government is continuing its efforts to keep running the wheels of economy through different policy supports and liberal financial stimulus packages. It needs no mentioning that the government is doing its best to keep the pandemic under control alongside making all-out efforts to bring vaccines in the country.

Country’s people know that Awami League stood beside the common people and led movements for realising their rights during the times when it remained out of power. We know that Bangladesh has already achieved the status of a developing country. We believe that under the visionary leadership of Sheikh Hasina Bangladesh would be an upper middle-income country by 2031 and a high-income, prosperous and dignified country by 2041.

Braving all odds and conspiracies hatched at home and abroad, the government will have to reach the expected destination. If the government works hard and performs its responsibilities with integrity and patriotism,  it will see more success in the coming days. With renewed hopes and aspirations, we look forward to even a better year under the leadership of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
