Bangladesh's Ministry of Primary and Mass Education plans to recruit 13,781 primary teachers in 2024, building on the appointment of 37,000 teachers in 2023 to advance Sustainable Development Goals. Secretary Farid Ahmed emphasizes achieving a 1:30 teacher-student ratio. Plans include enhancing 342 primary infrastructures in Dhaka and establishing new schools in Uttara and Purbachal, with 156 school plans approved and 43 under construction.

State Minister Rumana Ali reports appointing 238,579 primary teachers and officializing 104,875 positions in private schools. These efforts aim to meet the SDG target by 2030, ensuring accessible and quality primary education nationwide. The focus extends beyond teacher recruitment to infrastructure development, particularly in densely populated areas like Dhaka, and expanding educational facilities into underserved regions like Uttara and Purbachal.
