The foundation stone has been laid for the construction of the office of the Deputy Director of the Family Planning Department at Khagrachari. It was inaugurated by Kujendra Lal Tripura, local MP and chairman of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Refugee Task Force (with the rank of state minister) on Wednesday.
Members of Khagrachhari Hill District Council and Convener of Family Planning Department Khokneshwar Tripura, Executive Engineer of Chittagong Division of Health Engineering Department Md. Mohsin, Deputy Director of Khagrachhari Family Planning Department Biplob Barua and others were present at the occasion. After unveiling the foundation stone, they inspected the site for construction work. Later a discussion meeting was organized.
Speakers at the event said various development activities are being implemented in the hills during the tenure of the present government. Khagrachhari hill district is moving ahead especially in health, communication and power sectors. They called upon all to work together to maintain its continuity.
The construction work of a three-storey building with a six-storey foundation of the office of the Deputy Director of Family Planning Department of Khagrachhari has been estimated at Tk 4 crore 66 lakh under the implementation of the Department of Health Engineering (HED) and the Ministry of Family Welfare. The project is expected to be completed by December 2021.
