Dinajpur Suihari Majhdanga Dakheel Madrasa’s Superintendent Md. Jamiluddin is alleged to have siphoned off money by the name of himself and his family as well as outsiders.

Multiple teachers from Dinajpur Sadar Upazila collected and gave the official grant papers to the correspondent, saying that the money was provided by the Prime Minister in the name of the teachers. But no legal teacher in the Madrasa actually got the money. Md. Jamil Uddin and his family got the grant money instead.

An Assistant Moulvee who did not wish to be named, said, "Md. Jamil Uddin, Sultana Razia, Anwarullah, Md. Zahurul Islam, Md. Shamsuzzaman, Md. Maher Ali, Shah Azam Sarkar and Marjuminnahar received Tk. 5,000 in cash as incentive. The names of the remaining legal teachers were not listed. Not only that, but the government-allocated grant money is also been provided to Anwarullah, who is known to be a madrasa teacher from Biral.

The madrasa teachers and staff were doing their jobs with dignity till 2015. But suddenly Majhdanga resident Jamil Uddin used local influence to humiliate the teachers and went to become the Superintendent himself.

Md. Saidur Rahman of Maljhar village who was working as the Superintendent of the Madrasa earlier, filed a GD with Dinajpur Kotowali Police Station in this regard. He mentioned in the GD that  Obaidur Rahman was a member of the former management committee of the Madrasa but Jamiluddin was not. But there is no committee in the Madrasa at present. So, when they talk about Madrasa, the defendants are threatening to kill Saidur Rahman.

He added that knowing the Madrasa will be MPO listed the management committee started hiring new Superintendent and teachers in secret without giving them any leave of employment and Jamiluddin himself became superintendent expelling the former Superintendent by force.

Some teachers and Md. Saidur Islam became emotional and started weeping saying “There is no law in the country. We are suffering with our families. We developed education quality of the Madrasa with talent and hard work. Every brick in this madrasa is set by us. We can hardly deal with this current situation with our families”.

Meanwhile, A parent Sheikh Kamal, told the correspondent that his son Shish Mohammad has been reading in the Madrasa for 4 years but did not received any government-allocated scholarships. Many parents, like Sheikh Kamal, claimed their children do not receive the money for the scholarship and Md. Jamiluddin is the one who takes the money himself.

Moreover, Jamiluddin has been recruiting new teachers voluntarily in the Madrasa without following the government and NTCR rules.

While newly appointed Superintendent of Police called Md. Jamil uddin over phone he denied the charges against him.

The victim's teachers complained against Md. Jamiluddin and sought immediate intervention from the Chairman of Dhaka Madrasa Education Board to take immediate action against them in connection with the corruption investigation.
