Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said that the present government does not allow terrorism, militancy and drugs. “We have successfully controlled militancy following zero tolerance policy set by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina,” he said.
He was speaking as the chief guest at a public rally against militancy, terrorism and drugs on Darshana Government College Maidan under Damurhuda upazila in Chuadanga on Saturday afternoon. He also inaugurated new Darshana Thana, visited Dattanagar Agriculture Farm in Jibannagar uapazila of Chuadanga district and attended a baul sangeet session.
Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal sadi, “Our law enforcement agencies are working coordinately to curb militancy, terrorism and drugs.” He called uppn people and drug related persons to avoid drug for keeping health good.
It may be mentioned here that at least 90 drug businessmen and drug addicted persons surrendered to Home Minister at the rally. They vowed that they won’t involve themselves in drug related activities. The Home Minister welcomed them with flowers.
Jahidul Islam, Superintendent of Police, presided over the rally, while Solaiman Hoque Joarder Selun, MP, Ali Azgar Togar, MP of Chuadanga-2 constituency and Dr. Khandakar Mohiuddin, DIG of Khulna were present as special guests. It was addressed, among others, by Advocate Shafiqul Azam Khan Chanchal, MP of Jhenedah-3 constituency, Habibur Rahman Khan, additional divisional commissioner of Khulna, Monira Parvin, additional district magistrate of Chuadanga, Motiar Rahman, Mayor of Darshana Pourasabha and Ali Munsur Babu, Damurhuda upazila chairman.
Before joining the rally, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal inaugurated the new Darshana Thana by cutting ribbon. Later, the Home Minister visited Dattanagar Agriculture Farm in Jibannagar upazila of the district. At night a baul sangeet session was arranged at Baul Sangeet Monch in the compound of Darshana Cerews Sugar Mills in honor of Home Minister. He also attended at the baul sangeet session.
