Govt allocates Tk 24.5m for ‘food for work’

The government has allocated a total of 2,45,95,296 taka for food for work Programme in three upazilas of Narail district in the current fiscal year. Besides, 520 metric tonnes of rice and 520 metric tonnes of wheat have been allocated in this project.  

District Relief and Disaster Management Office sources said under the Food for Work Programme, Narail-1 and Narail-2 constituencies have been allocated taka one crore fifty one lakh seventeen thousand eight hundred forty eight and 319 metric tonnes of rice and 319 metric tonnes of wheat in the fiscal year 2021-2022. The sources added that the government also allocated 94 lakh 77 thousand 438 taka in Sadar upazila, Lohagora and Kalia Upazilas in this project. 

Among these, 34 lakh 71 thousand 769 taka allocated for Narail Sadar upazila, 31 lakh 41 thousand 992 taka for Lohagora upazila and 28 lakh 63 thousand 675 taka for Kalia upazila have been allocated. District Relief and Rehabilitation Officer Md Mizanur Rahman said food for work Programme allocated taka, rice and wheat would be spent on development of various educational institutions including schools, colleges. madrasas, mosques, temples, churches and development of roads and communication system in three Upazilas of the district.
