Teachers and employees of Z. H. Sikder University of Science and Technology (ZHSUST) in Shariatpur have celebrated the golden jubilee Independence Day with due dignity maintaining hygiene rules on Friday.
University authorities started the day with hoisting the national flag. Later, a colourful procession was arranged from university premises. Then a floral wreath was placed in front of the mural of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
A discussion was held on university premises marking the day. Proctor and Assistant Professor of Department of Law,MdImamunur Rahman, spoke as the chief guest at the programme.
Chairman of Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department Sonnet Kumar Saha, Hall Provost MdAmimul Islam and MonowaraSikdar Hall Provost FatemaAkhter were present as special guests. Speakers at the ceremony said that Bangladesh was born led by Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on March 26 in 1971.
People of Bangladesh have seen that after 50 years of Independence, this country have become one of the most prosperous nations in Asia. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina with her clear vision has transformed Bangladesh from a least developed country to a developing country.
Speakers expressed their hope that this steady progress will make Bangladesh a developed country in the future. Department heads of CSE, Civil Engineering, BBA, Chemical Engineering, English, Law and other departments were also present at the discussion.
