A theft was committed at the house of one Salam Mandal of No. 1 Habeli Gopalpur of Ward No. 23 of Faridpur Municipal Area on Monday.
Golam Rabbani, the eldest son of the house, filed a case with local police alleging that cash and goods worth Tk 26 lakh were looted from that house.
According to the statement, on March 23, his mother Rokeya Begum went went to market for shopping.
After returning home at 2.30 pm, she unlocked the main gate and found the gate as locked from inside. Then his mother opened the gate and entered inside with the help of the people around and found the lock of the main door of the house broken, the lock of 2 steel cupboards broken and the goods were scattered randomly on the floor.
One lakh cash in 2 steel cupboards, 25 pieces of gold ornaments and a Nokia Android phone were stolen. The estimated value of which is Tk 26.15 lakh .
In this regard, Rokeya Begum said that after shopping, she returned home around 2.30 pm, unlocked the gate and went inside to find the gate closed from inside. Then, with the help of her cousin Dewar and others, she opened the gate, entered the house and after opening the main gate she got fainted.
