Officials of Dhaka Custom House on Wednesday seized gold bars weighing around seven kilograms from a passenger at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Custom sources said, acting on a tip-oof, officers of preventive team of the Dhaka Custom House took position at different points of the airport on Wednesday morning.
On suspicion movement, they searched passenger Mohabbat Ali, who landed at the airport by a Dubai-return Emirates Flight EK-582 from around 8:20am.
The team recovered the gold bars worth about Tk over 5 crores from his body.
Mohabbat Ali went to Dubai a week ago.
During primary interrogation, he admitted that he is a member of international gold smuggling racket.
