Girl rescued after 15 days, 2 held

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) rescued a child-girl from Dendabar area of Ashulia in Savar, on the outskirts of the capital, on Monday, 15 days after she went missing. RAB also detained two people in this connection.

The detainees were identified as Anzika alias Trisha, 20, daughter of Abu Shoma of Balyadi village at Nakla of Sherpur district, and Md. Ridoy Khan, 21, son of Md. Shakil Khan of Darulhuda village at Bhandaria of Pirojpur district.

Major AHM Adnan Tofadar, Company Commander of RAB-4 (CPC-2), confirmed the matter. He said that Anzika brought the victim to Ashulia area on November 29, in temptation to give a job. Later, she handed over the victim to Ridoy who raped her multiple times. The victim and the detainees were handed over to Nakla police station.

Mushfiqur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Nakla police station told The Bangladesh Post, “Victim actually went to Dhaka with her neighbor Anzika. Later, police opened an investigation after her family reported the incident to police station on December 8. In the meantime, RAB rescued the victim.” 

The OC said that the detainees were produced before the court on Tuesday.
