GD filed for not returning checks from Narail businessman

A General Diary (GD) has been filed against a female dentist, including Milon Kabir and Mofizur Rahman, for not returning two checks and stamps taken as a settlement of a case filed in the name of Narail businessman Md. Benazir Hossain. On Monday night, businessman Md.

Benazir Hossain, a resident of Mirzapur village in Narail sadar upazila, filed a General Diary (GD) with Jashore Kotwali Police Station citing the incident.

According to GD sources, on September 22, Milon Kabir (30), son of Tofazzel Hossain of Mangirpara village in Chougacha upazila and Md. Mofizur Rahman (40) son of Kabir Hossain of Jashore Police Line area, took two undated checks of Sonali Bank and IFIC Bank and stamps signed by Benazir’s elderly mother Baby Begum and younger brother Jobair, wife Sathi Akhter, claiming to be settling a case (No. 9/25, G.R. 451/25) filed at Jashore Kotwali Model Police Station on June 3 this year.When Benazir was in jail at the time,Milon and Mofiz taking the checks and stamps. Later, after Benazir was released on bail, he paid the money to Milon Kabir as promised to settle the case and asked for return of the checks and stamps. As Milon did not return the checks and stamps, he failed to resolve the matter even after contacting Mofizur.

Businessman Benazir is expressing fear that he may become a victim of harassment case due to the checks and stamps.

The investigation officer of the GD filed in this incident, Sub-Inspector (SI) of Jashore Kotwali Model Police Station Md. Shamsul Haque said that necessary legal action will be taken after investigating the matter.

Businessman Md. Benazir Hossain alleged that dentist Akhi Tara of Jashore Ghop Central Road, taking money from him, to build a dental clinic. At the moment dentist Ankhi Tara did not open the dental clinic as promised, she gave him two checks from Dutch Bangla Bank signed by her, promising that if the businessman wanted the money back and the money would be paid immediately. Later, when Benazir pressured the doctor to return the money, he was harassed by Dr. Akhi filing a case, he said in her complaint.
