Kit Harington has revealed that he and his wife Rose Leslie are expecting their second child. He and Rose met as co-stars on HBO's Game Of Thrones in 2012 and were wed in 2018. Kit played fan favourite character Jon Snow while Rose played Ygritte. They are already parents to their two-year-old son.
Game Of Thrones ended in 2019 after eight seasons. Kit is also going to star in a Jon Snow spin-off series which was announced in June 2022. George RR Martin, author of the fantasy adventure series, had revealed that Kit was the one who suggested the idea to everyone involved in the project, according to a report on www.hindustantimes.com.
The actor, who was appearing on NBC’s The Tonight Show on Friday, told host Jimmy Fallon about his son and how he was about to receive a big surprise. He then confirmed that Rose Leslie is pregnant. Kit said of his two-year-old, "He loves applause. Every time he does something good, we give him applause and we're worrying that's kind of that's pushing him towards acting. You might be too smart for this, go save the world. We're thick. We had no choice. He’s about to get the shock of his life, which is that he’s about to get a brother or sister."
The 36-year-old revealed that he was terrified this second time around. He shared, “You know, with the first baby, you’re like walking on clouds and dancing through fields of daisies for nine months — well, the man is, anyway. But this time, the reality check comes much shorter. You get practical real quick.” He also said that he and Rose have been preparing their son for his new sibling but he hasn't quite grasped it yet. Kit did not reveal when their second child was due.
After the series ended, Kit appeared in the Marvel film Eternals (2021) and the feature Baby Ruby (2022). He also acted in an episode of the television anthologies Criminal: UK (2020) and Modern Love (2021). Rose was last seen in the feature film Death on the Nile and also headlined the HBO series The Time Traveler’s Wife.
