Rapid Action Battalion arrested a fugitive who was convicted life term jail, from city’s outskirts Ashulia.
Talking to the Bangladesh Post over phone, Additional DIG Anwar Hossain Khan, who is also the Commanding Officer of the RAB-2 confirmed it on Monday.
The arrested was identified as Ripon Hossain, 48. He is the son of one Md Kabir Hosssain, hailing from Pallabi area of the capital Dhaka.
Getting secret information, the elite force arrested him on Sunday.
RAB-2 chief said, Ripon was arrested on January 9 in 2014 with 250 gram heroine. Later a case was filed against him with the Adabar Police Station. After staying eight months in jail, he went on hiding instead of attending the trial proceeding.In one stage, a Dhaka court sentenced him life term jail in the narcotic case in his absence. RAB intensified monitoring against Ripon and final arrested him on Sunday.
