A day-long congregation of the elderly people with the youngsters and a friendly sports competition was held at the playground of Dhanjoil High School under Cheragpur Union of Mohadevpur upazila of Naogaon district on Tuesday.
Non-government organisation Mousumi arranged the elderly people and the youngsters' congregation and the sports competition under financial support from the PKSF. A rally comprising the young and the elderly people paraded streets of the area before starting of the programmes.
The main attactions of the sports competition was the Balance Race, Race of Girls and the Boys, slow bicycling and the football competition with youngsters and the elderly people.
Presided over by Hossain Shahid Iqbal Rana, Chief Executive of Mousumi, the function of the sports programme was attended and addressed, among others, by Monir Hossain, Manager (Operation) of PKSF as the chief guest, Shibnath Mishra, Chairman of Cheragpur union, Director Erfan Ali, Abdur Rouf Pavel, Programme Officer of Mousumi and Abdul Barek. More than 100 elderly people and young men of the areas participated the competitions.
Speakers at the function said the elderly people were not the burden and such competition between elderly people and the youngsters was arranged to retain the congenial relation between them.
