We applaud the government’s constant efforts to generate job opportunities for the youths and ensure sustainable economic development of the country by taking up more new projects.
Bangladesh Post on Saturday ran a story headlined “Fresh projects for many more jobs” that says nine new development projects related to the Prime Minister's Office and the Ministry of Commerce have been proposed to be included in the Annual Development Program for the next fiscal year 2021-22.
The projects are the establishment of Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP-3A), Desalination Plant (Diesel-2A) at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Industrial City and Mongla, Bogura, Netrokona, Nawabganj, Sonadia and Maheshkhali Economic Zones.

ideas, efficiency and strengths for
expanding the country’s job market
Besides, the proposed projects also include infrastructure development at Sabrang and establishment of Naf Tourism Parks. And it is the main target of the Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina as her government has also set a target that none will remain unemployed marking the “Mujib Year”
In 2020, the unemployment rate in Bangladesh was at approximately 4.15 percent, says a World Bank study, adding after a decrease from 2010 through 2011, the unemployment rate has been steady at around 4.2 percent.
Therefore, we think this government will establish the country as Bangabandhu’s exploitation-deprivation-free, hunger-poverty-illiteracy-free, non-communal ‘Sonar Bangladesh’ (Golden Bangladesh) as Mujib Year will be the year of employment generation for all. Apart from the government, the youths will also have to develop themselves with a mindset of not running after the jobs rather to generate employment themselves.
We think it will not be wise to sit idle awaiting jobs rather our youths should use their talents in creating employment opportunities. Besides, they will also utilise their innovative ideas, efficiency and strengths for expanding the country’s job market.
Therefore, none will remain jobless in the country if the youths have self-confidence and self dignity.
