The French Ambassador to Bangladesh, Jean-Marc Cheret Charlet, paid a visit to Chattogram Port on Wednesday to observe its operational activities.
During his visit, the Ambassador held a courtesy meeting with Rear Admiral SM Moniruzzaman, Chairman of the Chattogram Port Authority (CPA). In the meeting, the CPA Chairman briefed the Ambassador on the port’s recent developments and performance indicators. These included improvements in ship waiting times, turnaround time, reduction of container dwell time, increased yard capacity, and the implementation of digital systems.
Ambassador Charlet expressed his appreciation for the port’s current operational efficiency, ongoing development projects, robust security measures, and its recent achievements. He also engaged in discussions regarding various aspects of Bangladesh’s exports to the European Union.
A detailed presentation was made to the Ambassador outlining the future plans and strategic vision for the port’s continued growth and modernisation.
Following the meeting, the French delegation toured the port facilities to witness first-hand the operational activities and infrastructure.
