Free houses, bicycles and sub-scholarship cheques have been distributed among homeless families and poor students of the small ethnic groups under Magura Sadar Upazila.
Advocate Saifuzzaman Shikhar, Member of Parliament from Magura-1 constituency, distributed these items at the Sadar Upazila Parishad at around 11:30 am on Sunday.
On the occasion, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Abu Sufian presided over the function organized at Sadar Upazila Parishad auditorium. Special guests were Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Abu Nasir Bablu, Vice Chairman Sheikh Rezaul Islam, District Awami League Publicity Secretary Advocate Shakharul Islam Shakil, Sadar Upazila Awami League President Ashraful Alam Babul Fakir and others.
Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Abu Sufian said under the socio-economic development project for the minority ethnic group at a cost of Tk 34 lakh 10 thousand houses among 15 homeless families, 50 bicycles and cheques worth Tk 4 lakhs among 151 students were distributed at the time.
