The administration of has introduced free high-speed internet service so that the teachers and students of NSTU will be able to collect their research data through the use of free internet and the officers and employees can use faster internet through the use of this service in administrative work. The total budget fixed for this project is Tk1.5 crore.
An inauguration program of free high-speed internet service is arranged by initiative of university's ICT cell and NSTU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr. Didar ul Alam inaugurated this. At this time, NSTU Registrar Professor Dr. Md. Abul Hossain, NSTU proctor Professor Dr. Newaz Mohammed Bahadur,ICT cell director (acting) engineer Abdullah Hill Faruk, members of teachers association, members of officers association and other officials and employees were present.
According to the university's ICT cell sources, WIFI and LAN connections have been provided in all academic, administrative buildings, halls and residential areas through this program. A network operation center has been set up in the ICT cell for the maintenance of this Internet service.
Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr. Md. Didar-ul-Alam said, "In his digital age, the Science and Technology University must have high speed internet and this will play a big role in the research for teachers and students and if students use it properly without abusing it, it will be possible to get the benefits."
