Four women held from Moheshpur frontier

The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel in Moheshpur frontier of Jhenidah have detained three women and an adolescent girl when they were trying to enter Indian territory without any valid documents. The four were detained on Thursday morning within 700 yards of the zero lines of the border at Baghapara.

The detainees were identified as Rashida Begum, 30, daugahter of Habibur Rahman, Sabina Begum, 33, wife of Delwar Mallik, of Iswardi village in Nagarkanda upazila in Faridpur, Dilwara Begum, 39, daughter of Rafiqul Islam and Nur Begum, 14, daughter of Sunsu Alam of Bathakhola village in Naikhangchhari of Cox’s Bazer.

BGB assistant director of 58 Battalion Nazrul Islam Khan said that they detained the Bangladeshi nationals during their attempt to enter in to neighboring India when they failed to produce any valid papers favouring themselves.

The detainees were handed over to Moheshpur police station after filing a case under Passport Act of 1973 on July 14, BGB man said.
