A case has been filed in Jashore Human Trafficking Crime Prevention Tribunal-2 on the charge of forced prostitution after being trafficked to India for showing good deeds on Tuesday.
Most Chayera Khatun, daughter of late Abdul Mannan, filed the case accusing four people of Bhaberber village under Benapole Port Police Station at Sharsha upazila in Jashore and Kotchadpur upazila in Jhenidah. The accused are Taukir Ahmed Shuvo, 32, son of Rahmat Ali of Ball Field area of Benapole, Hussain, 28, son of Baki Billah in the same area, Tapu Hossain, 34, and Putul Begum, 30, of Kotchandpur area.
According to the case statement, the main accused Taukir Ahmed Shuvo often used to propose marriage to Most. Chayera Khatun and harass her in various ways with a bad proposal.
At one stage on September 29, 2020 Taukir Ahmed proposed marriage to Chayera Khatun and took her to Khulna and got married and started living as husband and wife.
After 20 to 25 days, the four accused took her to the Putkhali border in Benapole port.Then Toukir Ahmed took her to Kolkata after showing her the temptation to do good deeds. From there she was taken to a house in the Kalyan city of India where she was locked in a house and forcibly forced into a brothel against her will. If Chayera Khatun did not agree to prostitution she would be subjected to various forms of physical abuse, including beatings.
After two months of brutal torture, Chayera Khatun returned home on December 25 last year and became physically ill. Following the filing of a case against the Human Trafficking Crimes Tribunal-2 last Tuesday (January 5), the judge directed the Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) to investigate the case and submit a report.
